You?ve probably heard that changing your habitual thinking can help you to change the way you live. But just what is this thing called habit? Well, it's actually quite simple and might be having an effect on all aspects of life without us even realizing it - which makes knowing more about them so important!
The thoughts your mind produces without any input from you are called ?habit-based? thinking. It's easy for us to fall into habits, and it can be hard sometimes when we want something different or more challenging than what our minds default to! The two most common examples that come up in my work with clients are either focusing on the past (wishing things were simpler) OR worrying about future dangers?both situations result in largely ineffective action towards goal achievement because there was no focus given as needed by these individuals during this time.
The reason it can be difficult to change our habits is because they have been with us for years. The good news? You don't have a lifetime of bad thoughts stored away in your brain, and you're perfectly capable (and eager!) of switching up the way that information flows through those circuits!
Most people have their own associations with the term "habitually." Some think of it as being positive and helpful, while others associate negative connotations. To be clear: habitual thinking can either produce good or bad habits - there isn't one way to define what we mean by this word!
Let?s face it, sometimes life can be tough. You might not have the best of luck or maybe you feel like no one really seems to care about what's going on in your world. but there are some things we could do that would make a difference! Maybe start by looking at our thought patterns and seeing if they tend towards often being negative. For example The more times I think ?I am a genius.?, the easier it is to come up with solutions!
What you think about yourself has a huge effect on how successful and happy your life becomes. A human mind is an amazing tool that can be trained to see things in different ways, which will then adjust our behaviors according to those beliefs. It?s important for us all to try out these various thought processes until we find one where happiness seems possible!
The first step to changing your thoughts is simply acknowledging that you want to change. Once you've done this much, the rest will come naturally and easily as long as it's something worth working for!
Habitually thinking a certain way may have been holding you back from achieving your goals in the past, but it doesn't always need to stay that way. You can change yourself and become whoever or whatever kind of person desired with just as much power coming out of this habit as what went into creating them!
Your choice on how often think positively will affect everything else- so make sure they align perfectly with where YOU want TO BE.
